Crippling disease : Polio vaccination drive concludes in Rawalpindi

1,696 polio teams visited the tehsils and towns of Rawalpindi District

RAWALPINDI: An estimated 750,793 children under five years of age were administered anti-polio drops during a five-day vaccination drive that concluded on Friday.

Under the campaign, 1,696 polio teams visited the tehsils and towns of Rawalpindi District and administered polio drops to 750,793 children, said EDO (Health) Dr Khalid Randahawa.


He added that the set target of the vaccination drive had been achieved successfully. Pakistan is one of the only countries in the world where polio is still a threat.
