Commitment reiterated: Khanzada says govt striving to eradicate terrorism

Home Minister Shuja Khanzada said on Thursday that all political parties, the military and law enforcement agencies had been brought to the same page regarding the need to eradicate terrorism under the National Action Plan.


He was speaking to journalists at his office. Khanzada said the government would continue to act against terrorism till the last terrorist standing was eliminated. He said the government had been using all resources at its disposal in the war against terrorism.

Khanzada said the day was not far when the nation would become a haven for peace. He said the recent attack on an imambargah in Islamabad was the latest in a string of conspiracies hatched by terrorists to fuel sectarianism in the nation.

Khanzada said all religious parties should display unity and not let any misunderstanding take root. He urged all political parties to display patience and tolerance. Khanzada said religious leaders should foil conspiracies to foment sectarianism and promote peace and tolerance.

He said the government was committed to eradicating terrorism and the NAP was being quickly implemented. Khanzada said the government was striving to eradicate terrorism and it was incumbent on citizens to complement its efforts. He said everyone should monitor their surroundings and complain on the anti-terrorism helpline if they spotted suspicious elements.
