Interception: Motorway police recover kidnapped person

The kidnappers were handed over to the Margalla police for further investigation.

National Highway and Motorway Police (NHMP) on Thursday recovered a man a few hours after he was kidnapped from Islamabad.


On a tip-off that four persons after kidnapping a man, Shahid Ullah, a resident of Bannu, from Islamabad were heading towards Burhan Interchange (Islamabad-Peshawar Motorway) in a Suzuki Mehran car, the police kept surveillance and when spotted signalled the car (LEC- 3521) to stop. The police chased the car after it tried to escape and arrested four suspected kidnappers, identified as Inam Ullah, Naeem Khan, Ghazanfar Ali and Yar Muhammad.


Shahid Ullah was also safely recovered. The kidnappers were handed over to the Margalla police for further investigation.


Meanwhile, the motorway police recovered a stolen Toyota Corolla car (RI-846) near Swabi Interchange and another Toyota Corolla car (FSN-25) near Burhan Interchange.
