Shoaib Malik destroyed Multan with a magical spell of five for 14 as Multan were dismissed for a humiliating 72 in the second innings, leaving PIA just 35 to win at the Gymkhana Ground, Okara.

The departmental side completed the job in the eighth over, winning by nine wickets. Malik, whose form with the bat has caught attention, made 48 in PIA’s first innings as well. Najaf Shah ended with six wickets in the match.

Blues facing defeat

Akberur Rehman led Karachi Blues’ recovery as they reached 331 for six on the third day but still need another 58 runs to avoid an innings-defeat against ZTBL who declared their first-innings on 453 for seven. Rehman, unbeaten on 145, was supported by Saeed Bin Nasir who made 66.

NBP lead by 210

Nasir Jamshed hit an unbeaten 65 as NBP gained a lead of 210 in the second-innings on the third day against Sialkot at the Jinnah Stadium. The hosts were earlier bowled out for 297 in reply to NBP’s 358 as Mohammad Talha took six for 98.

Wapda on-course

The match between Wapda and Rawalpindi headed for an exciting finish as the visitors, chasing 248 to win, were reduced to 106 for four at the Pindi Stadium. Earlier the hosts, resuming on 77 for four, were bowled out for 221 with Umaid Asif taking five for 50.

Islamabad fighting hard

Islamabad were fighting to save their match against HBL as they reached 196 for four, still needing another 104 runs to make the departmental side bat again at the Diamond Ground. Earlier, HBL added 105 to their overnight total as Aftab Khan hit an unbeaten 110.

SNGPL on top

Mohammad Salman made 104 not out but SNGPL were still on top at the end of day three with Faisalabad leading by 153 in the second-innings with three wickets remaining. Salman hit 15 fours and a six but Asad Ali and Imran Ali took three wickets each to peg back the hosts at the Iqbal Stadium.
