Bad governance?: Reconciliation will hinder Karachi operation, says SUP chairperson

The political reconciliation of parties is creating a hindrance for the success of the Karachi operation, alleged Sindh United Party (SUP) chairperson Jalal Mehmood Shah on Monday.

"The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) is incapable of restoring peace in the city and wants to hand the provincial government over to terrorists," he claimed while addressing a press conference at Haider Manzil.

He demanded that an election date should be announced if the PPP couldn't deal with government affairs in Sindh.



"The political will is what ensures law and order and unfortunately, neither the prime minister nor the Sindh chief minister have the political will to bring back peace to the provincial capital," he said, adding that outsiders were being given Senate seats in Sindh, turning it into a joke. "It will disturb the identity of Sindh if outsiders are given the province's share in the Senate."

Shah also criticised the urban-rural job quota, saying that it was the result of corruption and bad governance and that it went against the interests of Sindhis.

He further demanded justice from the federal and provincial governments for the families of the victims of the Baldia factory fire, adding that the investigation report was sidelined because of political reconciliation. He asked the authorities to bring all culprits involved in the incident to a court of law.
