Development: ‘Rs2m allocated for cleaning water ponds’

Channar assured the audience that delays in allotment of land would be addressed very soon.

As much as Rs2 million has been allocated for cleaning of water ponds in Cholistan, Provincial Cooperatives Minister Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channar told a seminar on Sunday.


He said cleaning would help improve the storage capacity of ponds in Jaamsar, Noorsar Balochan, Dolsar and Kala Pahar areas.

He was speaking at a seminar held to discuss issues faced by applicants in allotment of land in Cholistan. The seminar was arranged by Sawera Foundation and Pakistan Kissan Sangat.

The provincial minister also told the gathering that a university specialising in veterinary sciences education and research was being established in Bahawalpur. He said the university would assist livestock farmers in the region with any issues pertaining to their cattle.

Channar assured the audience that delays in allotment of land would be addressed very soon. He said development work in Cholistan continued.
