KHURRIANWALA:

A young man, accused of possessing 1.5 kilogrammes of drugs by the Khurrianwala police, was acquitted by the court based on the inquiry conducted by police officers, which found the youth innocent. The court also sought to register a case against SHO Khurrianwala and four employees who registered a false case against him.

Abdullah alias Asif, a resident of 211 Rab Majuran, was acquitted by Additional and Sessions Judge Jaranwala Muhammad Mumtaz due to inconsistencies in witness statements, police testimony and in the light of the inquiry conducted by DSP Gulberg Waqar Azeem.

This verdict came after a week-long trial as a result of which Abdullah was re-leased from Central Jail.
