QUETTA: Iranian border guards gunned down a Pakistani labourer and injured another inside Iranian territory near Kech district on Friday. No official word from Iran was immediately available. However, an official in Kech, said the Pakistani nationals were on the Iranian side of the border when the guards shot them. “A man identified as Momin Ibrahim received multiple bullet wounds and died on the spot, while another Atta Mohammed suffered injuries,” the official confirmed. Relatives of the victim claim that the two men were labourers and residents of Kech. Like many other people of the impoverished community, they used to walk across the unmarked border to find work on the other side, they said. Kech Deputy Commissioner Mumtaz said that the security forces heard an explosion and gunshots near the border area, but there was no official word on the incident.
