Fawad Khan may star in KJo’s next

Actor to share screen space with Sidharth Malhotra, Alia Bhatt

Fresh from winning the ‘Best Actor Debut (Male)’ Filmfare Award, Fawad Khan is set to return to the Bollywood silver screen, sharing it with the likes of Sidharth Malhotra and Alia Bhatt in a Karan Johar film, the Mumbai Mirror reported.

The movie, which will be directed by Shakun Batra of Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu fame, is scheduled to start filming in April. Sidharth and Fawad will play brothers in the yet untitled family-centric drama film, reported The Indian Express. “Rarely does a filmmaker write a super script in two months... @shakunbatra’s new family film just got green-lit and cast! Details coming up,” tweeted KJo about the upcoming project.

There is speculation on whether there will be a clash with Fawad doing a cameo opposite Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in Johar’s directorial Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, but that may be sorted after Fawad was spotted going in and out of the Dharma Productions office in Mumbai.

There were reports suggesting that Fawad may not have been first choice for the role. The Mirror said he was included because Varun Dhawan, the original choice, was busy shooting with Rohit Shetty and Shah Rukh Khan. However, Bollywood Life claimed that Arjun Kapoor was also in the running for the role.
