The Lahore Bar Association has been requested to call a meeting to discuss, what the applicants believe is, slow pace of investigations in a lawyer’s kidnapping.
An application with signatures of at least 50 lawyers was submitted by former LBA vice president Touqeer Sadiq on Tuesday.
They have expressed dissatisfaction with progress in the investigation of Advocate Mushtaq Ali Bhatti’s kidnapping. They have asked the LBA to devise a strategy to push Yaki Gate police for a speedy investigation. Bhatti has been missing since February 7.
The FIR accuses Bhatti’s former business partner, Hafiz Rizwan, of having kidnapped him. It says on February 7, Bhatti had told his family he was going to Rizwan’s house on his invitation to get a Rs1.8 million debt cleared. It mentions that Rizwan had owed him the money from a former business the two were partners in.
