VIDEO: Atletico Madrid gives this Indian fan an experience of a lifetime

Dhananjay was flown in to Madrid from Banglore where go the chance to meet his favourite player Torres

Football as a sport can be incredibly touching. There’s emotion pouring in from every inch of stadiums, as well as from people yelling or cheering into a TV screen while their favourite team is playing.

It is then, no surprise, that a young Indian fan could not have imagined a day better than when he won a contest launched by Spanish football club Atletico Madrid.

The win allowed Dhananjay Yadav, who hails from Bangalore, to not only attend one of the biggest games, and a victorious one that too, at the club’s stadium, but he also got the opportunity to meet his favourite player Fernando Torres, a moving video on Facebook tells us.

“I wrote about Fernando Torres and Atletico Madrid, and about how I started supporting Atletico from 2001 till the end. That is what got me here,” Yadav said in the video.

At the end of the game, the young Indian fan got to meet his favourite player from whom he got an autograph from on his football jersey.

“Fernando this is like the biggest dream come true, you have been my idol,” he told his favourite player.

India’s biggest fan basically got to watch Atletico Madrid crush Real Madrid in an emotionally charged 4-0 victory.

“I have goosebumps whenever they score, and 4-0 is like a dream come true. Seeing it over here, and against Real Madrid. [It is] the biggest match!.”

An emotionally charged Atletico Madrid fan, Yadav, went on to say it could not get better than that win against Real Madrid.

“I couldn’t have imagined a day better than this,” he said.

Yadav, who brought his brother Mayank along, also got to meet the club’s president and visit their museum.

“We wanted to see this match together, because we both support Atletico from the bottom of our hearts,” India’s biggest Atletico Madrid fan narrated.

“I am here for my love of Atletico Madrid. I was invited by Atletico to fulfill my dream, and I finally got the opportunity.”

Meeting his favourite player  and watching an amazing game made him feel as though this would be a day he would remember for the rest of his life.

“I have got all my tickets with, I have the flag with me,” he says of the football memorabilia he kept with him for fond memories of this “memorable, unforgettable” experience.
