FAISALABAD:

The old campus of the University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) will be converted into a museum to preserve the century-old building, said Vice Chancellor Iqrar Ahmad Khan on Saturday.

He was talking to a delegation of Asian Study Group led by its president Shireen Masoud.

The vice chancellor said the old campus was established as Punjab Agricultural College and Research Institute in 1906. He said the institute was granted university status in 1961.

He said the UAF was the oldest agricultural institute in the subcontinent. He said the university campus had now expanded and it was essential that older buildings be preserved.

He said thousands of graduates of the university had contributed to agricultural research and their work should be collected and displayed.
