Redressing Issues: Meetings with farmers' representatives

HYDERABAD: The commissioner of Hyderabad division, Asif Hyder Shah, has directed all the deputy commissioners to hold monthly meetings with the farmers' representatives to ascertain their problems and ensure their early resolution. All the nine deputy commissioners attended the meeting on Saturday. Shah identified important issues such as supply of irrigation water to tail-end, implementation of the sugarcane rates, availability of fertiliser, achieving wheat procurement target, proper rates for each crop and their access to the market. He also directed the deputy commissioners to redress traffic problems, ensure stricter regulation of vehicle fitness and improve the condition of roads.
