ATC indicts Sufi Muhammad in treason case
Maulana Sufi Muhammad was charged with treason for calling the democratically-elected govt ‘un-Islamic’

In November 2014, Muhammad, along with 30 accomplices, was acquitted in two murder and sedition cases that date back to 1995. On October 7, 2013, he was acquitted in another sedition case. PHOTO: EXPRESS
During the hearing in Peshawar Central Jail, the head of the banned outfit was charged with treason and sedition which he denied subsequently. The hearing has been adjourned till February 21.
Sufi Muhammad was charged for terming democracy and the democratic government of Pakistan as ‘un-Islamic’ in a speech for which he was charged with treason.
Sufi Muhammad is also the father-in-law of the Tehreek-e-Taliban chief Maulana Fazlullah's father-in-law.
