ISLAMABAD: ANP Senator Haji Muhammad Adeel has said that any attempt to change the original route of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor would not be acceptable at any cost and warned that it might become a much bigger issue than Kalabagh dam. While talking to Express Investigation Cell after attending a meeting of senior officials of National Highway Authority (NHA) at Parliament House on Wednesday, he said any alternative route would not only affect the economic interests of K-P but also many underdeveloped areas of Punjab. He added that it will increase the corridor’s construction cost as the new route will be about 1,000km longer than the old one. “Yes, I conveyed my reservations to senior officers of the communications ministry and NHA in the meeting,” he said.
