Detained or brainwashed?: Woman sent to shelter till next hearing

ISLAMABAD:
A local court sent Uzma Qayyum, who was allegedly forcibly kept at the controversial Jamia Hafsa women’s seminary, back to a women’s shelter until February 9, the date of the next hearing. She has been staying at the shelter since January 27 on court orders. Islamabad Sessions judge Nazir Ahmad Gajana also directed Umme Hassan, wife of Lal Masjid chief cleric Abdul Aziz and head of the seminary, to appear before the court in the next hearing.
