Duped: Family deprived of cash, jewellery

His mother fixed Rs50,000 cash and 30 carats of jewellery in a handkerchief.

RAWALPINDI: A family was deprived of cash and jewellery worth hundreds of thousands of rupees in Sadiqabad on Saturday. Ahtisham lodged a complaint with Sadiqabad police that two unidentified women visited his house for allegedly seeking tuitions while his mother was alone. They convinced his mother that they are spiritual women and will double any money she has. His mother fixed Rs50,000 cash and 30 carats of jewellery in a handkerchief and handed over to them for recitation of  verses. After their departure, when his mother checked the handkerchief it was empty.
