Homecoming: Expat family robbed at gunpoint

The robbers also thrashed male members of the family when they offered resistance.

KALLAR SYEDAN:


An expatriate family that was in the country for a relative’s funeral was robbed of cash, foreign currency and jewellery in Kallar Syedan on Thursday.


Police said that a gang of masked robbers broke into the house of Muhammad Zahid in Samoot around 3am by scaling the boundary wall and looted Rs400,000 cash, 700 pounds, 14 carats of jewellery, and other valuables.


The robbers also thrashed male members of the family when they offered resistance. Complainant Zahid said his family had come to Pakistan from Birmingham on the death of his father.


The police have registered a case but no arrests or recoveries had been made till the filing of this report.
