Chairperson of the Senate Standing Committee on Cabinet Secretariat Senator Kulsoom Parveen has called for legislation on fixing job quota for the skilled women in all public departments.
Speaking at a certificate distribution ceremony held for the trainees of different industrial homes working under the auspices of the Staff Welfare Organisation, she said “the whole effort of imparting skills to these girls would go to waste if they sit in their homes after having certificates in their hands.”
She emphasised the need for exploring opportunities for the skilled girls and women so that they can utilise their knowledge and potential for the country’s development while earning a respectable livelihood.
Staff Welfare Organisation DG Muhammad Ameer Sial said he would initiate all possible efforts to sort out ways to accommodate the skilled girls in the relevant departments.
