KCCI urged finance minister, FBR Chairman to take note of the unjust steps taken by the land customs office and the directorate of intelligence and investigation.

KARACHI:

Raising the issues faced by importers, Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) President Iftikhar Ahmed Vohra has urged Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Chairman Tariq Bajwa to take note of the unjust steps taken by the land customs office and the directorate of intelligence and investigation.

Vohra said representatives of the Goods Carriers Association and many of the KCCI members, who are in the import business, complained that customs officers were constantly creating problems for them.

He said goods containers of genuine importers were being regularly intercepted at various check posts in Sindh and Punjab despite the fact that these goods were already examined and cleared from ports in Karachi.
