RAWALPINDI:

The Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) while criticising the federal government over petrol crisis in the country has said that its policies were tantamount to strangling the masses who were already going through testing times.

RCCI President Syed Asad Mashadi said that the government has not only failed to facilitate the business community but also created more troubles for the common man, who face crisis after crisis after now and then.

While talking to local traders and industrialists at a meeting held at the chamber on Wednesday, Mashadi said that the citizens were paying extra price for petrol as compared to the international market, but they were scrambling to get the product even at higher price.  “There is an excess supply of oil in the international market whereas Pakistan is surprisingly suffering from an acute shortage.” Mashadi said that as a result of oil crisis, more power plants were likely to be shut across the country in a few days.
