The protest was led by PTI general secretary Yasmin Rashid, information secretary Andleeb Abbas, provincial assembly member Sadia Sohail and PTI Lahore president Abdul Aleem Khan.
They said the government should take action against it ministers who had been guilty of negligence.
Rashid said citizens were suffering because of poor governance. She said that it was the responsibility of the government to ensure that those responsible for the fuel crisis be taken to task. Rashid said petrol was being sold in the black market. She said the shortage had persisted for over a week. Khan said the government had failed to provide relief to the public.
Khan said a government that prided itself on good governance had presided over a severe crisis caused by its mismanagement. Chanting Go Nawaz Go, the protesters blocked the road in front of the press club.
This was the PTI’s second protest demonstration in a week regarding the fuel crisis.
The party had announced on Monday that it would organise bigger demonstration if the fuel crisis was not resolved.
