Increasing crime: Man injured while resisting robbery

Police apprehended three persons including a suspected thief and seized a car and two pistols from their possession

A man was injured for resisting a robbery and three others were apprehended on separate charges during the last 24 hours.


In the first incident, three armed robbers’ beat up and injured Muhammad Shoaib, an employee of Ghulam Mustafa, while he was travelling in a car to deliver gold.


Mustafa, who has a jewellery shop in Sarafa Bazar, lodged a complaint with the local police stating that the robbers intercepted Shoaib on IJP Road while they were travelling in Honda car and snatched the gold ornaments.


They beat Shoaib up with pistol butts when he offered resistance and fled with the loot. Meanwhile, the same police on Monday apprehended three persons including a suspected thief and seized a car and two pistols from their possession.


Acting on a tip-off, the police intercepted Fayyaz at a police check point and recovered a stolen Toyota Corolla from his possession.  Moreover, the police seized a 30-bore pistol with six bullets from Imran and a 30-bore pistol with five bullets from Anwar.


Separate cases have been registered.
