The body of an ahlmad of a civil court was found in Peoples’ Colony near the residence of one of his wives on Sunday.
Majid Ali, a resident of Jhang Road, told Peoples Colony police in his complaint that his brother Wajid Ali had been a court employee.
He said he had married twice and his wives lived in separate houses – one at Jhang Road and the other in Peoples Colony.
He said on Saturday, he had gone to visit his wife in Peoples Colony.
He said later in the evening, he got a call on his mobile phone that Ali was unwell and had collapsed in a street in Jewan Singhwala.
“After I got the call, I rushed to the spot and found Ali lying unconscious,” he said
He said the people gathered around him told him that he had complained of pain in his chest.
He said they initially believed that he had died of a heart attack.
“We took his body home and were arranging the funeral when a number of blue marks appeared on his body,” he said. He told police he that suspected his brother had been poisoned.
Peoples Colony SHO said the body had been taken to a morgue for autopsy and a case had been registered.
