Shunning the politics of confrontation, PTI chief on Sunday announced to pursue all out efforts to improve governance in the K-P.
Imran also clarified that his party would not create any difficulties for the incumbent government in its fight against terrorism.
“We have decided not to create any sort of difficulties so the government could succeed in the war on terror," he said.
“Now all our energies will be directed to reform K-P,” said Imran while addressing the ‘Dharna Convention’ in Islamabad.
Listing de-politicisation of K-P police as one of the major accomplishment of his party, the PTI chief said, “There has not been a single FIR registered against political rivals.”
Outlining the agenda to improve governance in the province ruled by his party, Imran said a cleaning drive will be launched in the entire province, followed by a tree-plantation drive, measures to ensure supply of safe drinking water, as well as improving the systems of government hospitals and educational institutes.
Regarding local government elections in the province, the PTI chief said the province was ready to hold polls but not through the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
“The real change will come through the local bodies system,” adding that, “Powers will be devolved to village-level and no MNA, MPA will receive development funds.”
Talking about change, Imran jokingly added that a change had come in his personal life as well (“Tabdeeli to mere ghar mei bhi agayi hai,” he said.)
Reforms within PTI
Imran argued that the PTI’s 126-day long sit-in at D-Chowk, Islamabad allowed him to understand the strengths and weaknesses of his party, and hence, has decided to reorganise it on district level.
“People, who are not performing, will be kicked out and new people will be brought into the party,” he said. “We have to make this party a democratic party.”
He asked PTI leaders Arif Alvi and Saifullah Niazi to begin with the party’s membership drive, and also hold intra-party elections if possible.
Rigging in 2013 elections
Reiterating his earlier stance that the general elections of 2013 were the most rigged polls in the history of Pakistan, the PTI chief thanked Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for giving him 126 days to awaken the nation.
Imran said the people of Pakistan had been awakened, and thanked the workers and supporters of PTI, especially women and the youth for coming in large numbers to support the cause of Pakistan.
Taking a jibe at the incumbent government for the current petroleum crisis, he said, “We were going for shutdown but the PML-N government itself shut the entire country by creating a petrol shortage."
The cricketer-turned-politician added that there should be confusion over the PTI's stance and that the party would not budge an inch from its principled stand on poll rigging investigation.
He also called out the former Punjab law minister, vowing to hold him accountable for his party worker's killing in Faisalabad.
“Listen, Rana Sanaullah, you will find yourself in prison this very year."

am surprised we are twenty crore people, and we only have three leaders, ZardarI, Nawaz and khan, inst there any one else--calling for a NEW LEADER, is there anyone out there?
It took Imran almost 2 years to understand what is his basic responsibility after forming government in KPK. PTIans, you may use simple maths to calculate the years needed for Naya Pakistan.
Finally ! he got some sence.
what a good change . Is it the impact of his better half .
Imran khan is best ...go nwaz go
A true patriot!
Our media is so determined to glorify anything they see, at last IK is now paying attention to his province.
Ro Imran Ro!
Even before IK's speech if somebody had ask me "What you will do if given a chance to be PM ?", my reply would have been, first I will order cleaning of all the cities/ villages and plantation of atleast one plant in every house in Pakistan. Also I would have given special authority to police to challan any house that doesn't meet cleanliness criteria. A clean natural environment is compulsary to clean corrupted minds.
Really felt good at IK's yesterday speech. Very well written, most probably by Haroon Rasheed Sb :)
Mr.Khan you still have time to redeem your politics. Stop listening to immature, grandstanding politicians like Sheikh Rasheed. Show what you can do in KP and the votes are yours in the next elections. The Sheikh has no stake in politics and by his own admission, he has nothing to lose but you have. Think before you take another step.
this nation deserves nawaz sharif and zardari who are becoming rich and rich at the cost of masses. Voters of these two parities are also responsible for this whole mess. Let them wait in queue for hours and hours for petrol and CNG. long live rulers and their voters.
Thanks a lot for wasting 1 year of government Imran !
@Dr Ghulam Ali: If KPK is such a becon. , why isn't rest of Pakistan moving there? Stop deluding yourself
I want to bring into notice that , eight policemen are on the personal security of Carey Schofield since October 2014, she is principal of a private school Langlands at Chitral....no other school is being given this preference, just because she is a sympathiser of Imran.....furthermore the same school has been given an unprecedented 120 Million Rupees.....and the PTI and Imran Khan talks of fairness..
Happy to know that he is comming on right track thanks to bhabi. He should have focused KP rather than adopting politics of confrontation and prove himself a real and genuine opposition
Go to KP or ask those who devel there to what extent the province has changed. Majority of Pushtoons are happy at the performance of the provincial government. PTI is addressing issues which concern common people like government schools, hospitals, police culture, putwaris and basic needs. Unlike Metro Buss, these not prominent to make headings. Above all, these changes are being done in the world most difficult part. We are with you IK till the end.
@Jugnoo: Feel sorry for u guys. You deserve NS and then PPP and then NS.
@Israr: You guys deserve NS for sure. No petrol gas electricity and still you want more of this. Shame on you guys. Honestly how can you guys sleep at night.
@Sadia Jamil: I am sorry but get your facts right. There has been improvement but more needs to be done. I live in kpk and I can see the change.
As a PMLN supporter, I fully endorse this and hopes Imran do deliver naya Pakistan so PMLN supporters like me and my family have a reason to look/vote else where.
Go Nawaz Go!
I wonder on what basis these paid political opponents even raise a point such as 'PTI ne KPK mein kya karliya hai?'. If only they had the humility in them to read the papers everyday and see the amazing policy changes and developmental works being undertaken in KPK right now. But oh wait they can't because they're too busy calling in sifarshes and waiting for hours in line at the petrol stations hahahaha.
Finally he has read the writing on the wall. Make K.P. a better livable place than Punjab and get our votes.
ns and his boys, can you get this country some fuel please, use your experience!, pathetic!@Adnan Siddiqi:
Oh finally he gets it, that success comes from hardwork and not dharnas, lies baseless allegations. Start working and performing like Shahbaz Sharif. Under PMLn Punjab has become the most progressive province of Pakistan.
Imran is cutting his loses. The "Go Imran Go" slogans raised by the parents of the children killed in Peshawar is ringing in his ears.
Another addition to the list of 180 degrees turns by the great 'leader'. Can somebody be called a 'leader' if all they do is raise hollow slogans, and always are wrong or late on national decisions and issues
Go Imran Go. Ro Imran Ro. Stay Nawaz Stay.
@Jugnoo: Even with the humiliation you had to endure while queueing for hours for petrol? What breed are you, NS followers?
East or West. Nawaz Sharif is the best.
GO IMRAN GO.
Nothing has gone into waste.IK raised valid concern regarding rigging and he will take this slogan into next election.People are more aware of their rights than before.Yes they have not done much in building roads and other tangible projects but lot has been done in Reforms, health sector, education and police. I think empowering police (free from political intervention) is the biggest achievement which none other province has done despite continuous rule.Looking forward to see more with this new resolution.
@Sadia Jamil: can you explain zero and compare it with punjab
@Rashid: business in Pakistan is exerted by peoples with having average-education, like simple graduate similarly the cricketer mostly are under-graduate, but business is run by hook or by crook but cricket not, you will have to play in the ground and play with your abilities, you can elicit difference
But PML N won't give you any penny for that. Remember they control the money and they won't let you make KPK progress in any way.
Imran Khan can only raise slogans. PTI has shown zero progress in KPK. Shame for PTI.
@Rashid: Sorry dude thats how rest of the world especially the West knows him
What he means is that his Plans A, B, C etc.to gain power by hook or by crook having failed, he is going to make another U-Turn and try to do what other parties have been doing rom the the day the 2013 elections were over - work to deliver on his election promises.
A reminder to everyone to be wary of paid commentators who seek opportunities to misguide people, by masquerading facts and ignore the context of events. Have no enmity against them. Instead empathize with them, how they are forced to write propaganda due to lack of opportunities. Long live PTI, long live Imran Khan!
Imran your survival rests at confrontation to this status quo, other way you are going to engage and likely to earn title of mok muka, kpk is waterloo of even with worlds most sensitive technology
The journey from August 14th 2014 to January 18th 2015 could only have been completed by IK.....a journey wrought with lies, deceit, perfidy, treachery, ill advises, false anticipation, polarization and brain freezes.
Alas it has been so acrimonious for IK and his fan boys. IK should thank Sheeda Tully for such a wasted political legacy. Go back to collecting chandas Kaptaan.
Can the media stop using this "cricketer-turned-politician" for IK? It's so annoying. No one uses "businessman-PM" for NS.
