RIYADH: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Thursday met Saudi King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz al Saud, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and inquired after his health.

PM Nawaz, who arrived in Saudi Arabia on a two-day visit, was welcomed by Riyadh Governor Prince Turki bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz.

The prime minister expressed his concern over the health of King Abdullah and said he has a special place in the heart of every Pakistani and the nation is praying for his speedy recovery and long life.

Moreover, Nawaz also met Crown Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Deputy Premier and Minister of Defence at al Yamamah Palace.

During the meeting they emphasised on the importance of close bilateral relations between the two countries and ways of enhancing them in various fields. They also discussed the latest developments at regional and international levels.

Later, Nawaz left for Jeddah. He will perform Umrah and also visit Madina.
