Terror threat: More security ordered at Lahore General Hospital

Post Graduate Medical Institute (PGMI) and Lahore General Hospital (LGH) Principal Prof Anjum Habib Vohra on Tuesday directed administration to beef up security at the hospital.


According to a statement, Vohra has directed the contractors of the hospital canteen and car parking to submit testimonials of their staff within two days for police verification. He has also banned the entry of outsides to the nursing school during study hours. Vohra has asked staff to display identity cards during duty hours in accordance with the security policy of the government.

He said that LGH medical superintendent and the PGMI additional dean have been entrusted with the responsibility of ensuring security of the buildings. Vohra said that all the in charge officers had been directed to monitor their subordinate staff and keep record of visitors. “In the backdrop of the law and order situation in the country, security of the LGH and the PGMI will be ensured by adopting strict measures. No negligence will be tolerated,” he said.
