Record-tempering: Revenue official held

A local resident had lodged a complaint with the anticorruption department

ATTOCK: The anticorruption department on Friday arrested a revenue official for his alleged involvement in tempering with land record of a local resident. A local resident had lodged a complaint with the anticorruption department against the revenue official, Chaudhry Tariq Mehmood, charging him of   tempering with the record of his 223-kanal land in Mousa Shakardara, Attock. The anticorruption department has already arrested another official of the additional commissioner office Rawalpindi in the same case. The reading team arrested Mehmood from Peoples’ Colony after he was found guilty of tempering with the revenue record of a land belonging to one, Sameer Khan. The accused official was shifted to the anticorruption station Attock for further investigation. Another accused of the said case, Masood Akhtar, was arrested on December 31 by the anticorruption department.  Sources said that more arrests were expected involving the said case.
