The attack, for which the the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) claimed responsibility, was the most devastating attack in the history of Pakistan.
Over 130 children were ruthlessly slaughtered in the attack, while the total death toll stood at 150. Several messages of condemnation and sympathy poured in from leaders of countries all over the world.
Further, people active on social media site Facebook took to changing their profile pictures to a black screen, to show solidarity with the victims.
Additionally, several candle-light vigils took place around the country, organised by civilians of the nation.
In the aftermath of the horrific incident, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif lifted the moratorium on the ban on the death penalty in terrorism-related cases.
After the ban was lifted, at least seven people were executed.
A few weeks after that, the president signed the 21st Constitutional Amendment into law, thereby enabling the establishment of military courts.

@Saad: I dont think they will ever feel safe. Opening school sends a strong message.
One can only imagine how difficult it must be for these children to return to a place where their schoolmates were brutally murdered at the hands of the TTP terrorists. At the same time, it is important to let these terrorists know that they have failed to instill any fright in our hearts, and the nation stands united and continues to move ahead without any fear. The TTP continue to issue more threats against the nation, but the government of Pakistan is fully focused on eliminating these terrorists from the country. We remain fully optimistic in regards to seeing peace prevail throughout the region.
Our hearts and prayers are with everyone who has been affected by this tragedy. And we stand united with the nation of Pakistan in its quest for peace.

I think its too soon to open the said school. Parents/students/staff/teachers wont feel safe as they are emotionally shattered. Should stay closed for another few weeks.
The nation mourns with the parents of the deceased children and the staff of Army Public School, Peshawar.
May Al-Mighty Allah rest their souls in peace. Ameen.
