Peshawar visit: Gen Raheel reviews progress of military operations

Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif on Thursday visited the Corps Headquarters (HQ) in Peshawar to review the progress made so far in the ongoing military operations in the tribal areas.


According to ISPR, during his meeting with the Peshawar corps commander, the army chief discussed and reviewed Operation Zarb-e-Azb in the North Waziristan Agency and Operation Khyber-I in the Khyber Agency.

The meeting also discussed the effective implementation of the National Action Plan against Terrorism approved following the December 16 attack on the Army Public School (APS) in Peshawar which left over 150 people, mostly children, dead. Under the plan, military courts are being established to try terror suspects.

On arrival at the Corps HQ Peshawar, the army chief was received by Lieutenant General Hidyatur Rehman, Commander 11 Corps Peshawar.
