MUZAFFARABAD:
A protest rally was taken out here on Monday in support of Kashmiris’ right to self-determination. The rally was organised by the Jammu and Kashmir Passban-e-Hurriat and the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Cell (JKLC) which was attended by a large number of people. The protesters marched from the Central Press Club to the office of the United Nations Military Observers Group for India and Pakistan (UNMOGIP). Speakers urged international human rights watchdogs, the UNO, the OIC and the European Union to take notice of Indian ‘brutalities’ in the Kashmir Valley. The protesters also presented a memorandum to the UNMOGIP seeking to settle the Jammu and Kashmir dispute as per the resolution of UN Security Council. In the memorandum, the Kashmiris urged Ban Ki Moon to use his office to settle the Kashmir issue at the earliest to bring peace and stability in South Asia.
