Powering up: Govt plans LNG power plants in Lahore

ISLAMABAD: A meeting on energy was informed here on Friday that LNG based power plants of 3,600 MW will be set up till 2017 at Haveli Bahadur Jang, Balloki and Bhakki in Lahore. Altogether, the short and long term measures would add up 5,600MW of electricity to the national grid. This was decided at a meeting on energy chaired by Finance Minister Ishaq Dar which also reviewed measures for meeting energy shortages in the country. Federal Water and Power Minister Khawaja Asif and Petroleum Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, were also present.

sam | 9 years ago | Reply Nawaz Govt has no incentive to do projects in other Provinces. All the need to do is do projects in punjab and get votes. Enough to win National assembley majority and rule Pakistan. Formula is simple: Keep punjab happy and rule Pakistan.
