ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Friday wrote a letter to President Mamnoon Husaain, urging him to reject the mercy pleas of five prisoners convicted of terrorism.

The convicts were identified as Muhammad Ikramul Haq Ahmed Ali, Mohammad Tayyab, Ghulam Shabbir and Zulfiqar.

The mercy petitions of these convicts were submitted earlier to the president.

Nawaz had lifted the moratorium on death penalties on December 17 in the aftermath of the devastating attack on the Army Public School in Peshawar.

After the ban was lifted, at least seven convicts have been executed, including those complicit in the attack on former president General (retd) Pervez Musharraf.

Any system based on injustices, unequal rights and lack of mutual excess to justice can't survive but sooner or later definitely get fail. Any crime or so called terrorism can only be eradicated if its root cause is identified and treat. And the root cause of today so called terrorism is the entire history of Pakistan. And those culprits who made them terrorists. The prime responsibility of a state and its institution to treat the Nation as owner and serving them with devotion.
