LAHORE: A judicial magistrate on Thursday granted bail to six shopkeepers, who had earlier been arrested by the district administration for overcharging. Samanabad police brought Attaullah, Abdul Wahid Khan, Sher Gul Khan, Pervez Khan, Muhammad Imtiaz and Muhammad Ramazan to the court. The defence counsel stated that the six were wrongly implicated in the case. “They are not involved in overpricing LPG as claimed,” he said. “The shopkeepers purchased LPG at Rs210 per kilogramme and sold it for Rs220. They are accused of selling LPG at Rs250 per kg. This is untrue,” he said. He said Muhammad Imtiaz did not even sell LPG. He only repaired gas stoves. A price control magistrate had ordered the arrests during a visit to Samanabad on Wednesday.
