
Police claimed to have killed a man wanted for several robberies and murders in a shootout on Thursday. A Kot Samaba police spokesman said an informant told them that Mujahid Hussain and three of his accomplices were hiding in a house in Bakshabad.
He said the station house officer took a team to raid the house. He said when the police team reached the gate, the occupants threw grenades at them and opened fire. The spokesman said Hussain was shot and killed in retaliatory fire, while his accomplices managed to escape. Talking to newsmen, the SHO said Hussain was wanted for several murders ans robberies. He said he had been wanted since 2010.
He said Hussain was a resident of Alipur. He said the body had been sent to the morgue for post mortem examination and a case had been registered. He said a team had been formed to find and arrest Hussain’s accomplices.
