KARACHI: Only a few days after a blaze destroyed Karachi’s timber market, a fire broke out in a furniture market in the city's Gulistan-e- Jauhar neighbourhood on Thursday morning, Express News reported.

The fire was extinguished in an hour. While, no casualties were reported, the incident caused loss of millions of rupees.

“At least six fire tenders brought the blaze under control,” fire brigade officials said.

The market reportedly housed around 15 shops.

In another incident, a laboratory of Pakistan Council of Scientific and Industrial Research caught fire in the city while a fire also erupted in makeshift houses in Hazara Goth of Gulshan-e-Iqbal town. Four fire tenders are working to extinguish the fire.

Karachi has witnessed several infernos in this week, with the fire in the timber market near Old Haji Camp on December 28 destroying 250 shops and 50 warehouses.

Just a day later, another fire broke out in a building located in a market near Bahadrabad Chowrangi.

Are they called accidental or short circuit fires any ways?????.think wisely who matter.

I lived there and when I called fire brigade, according to them fire tenders already left for the location, but they reached at scene after more then 30 to 40 minutes. We should have questioned the fire department efficiency and average response time.
