PESHAWAR:

An SOS threat alert system to protect educational institutes is now functional in Peshawar.

The system was inaugurated at a ceremony held at Malik Saad Shaheed Lines on Wednesday.

Additional IG Operations Dr Naeem and Additional IG Mian Muhammad Asif inaugurated the system which is an android-based application that can easily be installed in a smartphone.

“Once the button is pressed, police headquarters, relevant police stations, police officers, Rescue 1122, emergency centres, hospitals and fire brigades will automatically be alerted,” said Dr Naeem while talking to journalists at the ceremony.

He said it is an effective and modern system which will help educational institutes in the district handle their security efficiently by involving all stakeholders.
