Timely Action : Police recover snatched passenger bus

The bus had been snatched within the jurisdiction of Kulachi police station in DI Khan

DI KHAN: Police have recovered a passenger bus snatched from DI Khan in Cha Dahr area of Tank on Friday. According to information shared with The Express Tribune by Shaheed Mureed Akbar Police Station’s SHO Alamgir Khan, the bus had been snatched within the jurisdiction of Kulachi police station in DI Khan. The culprit has been identified as Ehsan Khan. There were no passengers on board when the bus was taken away.  “At 8am we received information that the bus had been snatched and was being taken to Tank district via DI Khan-Tank Road,” said Alamgir. According to the SHO, police carried out a search operation and managed to find the bus. They also resorted to aerial firing and tried to take Ehsan into custody. “However, Ehsan managed to escape and left the bus behind,” he added. The vehicle was subsequently handed over to Kulachi police. Alamgir said the bus had a capacity of 52 passengers and was used to transport passengers from between DI Khan city and Kulachi tehsil. “The vehicle was parked at a bus stand in Kulachi when it was snatched,” said another police official.
