ISLAMABAD: The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) has announced that it has published a series of guide booklets under the Investor Education Programme (IEP).

The programme is aimed at educating investors to protect themselves while raising public awareness of various available investment options and also reinforcing corporate governance. “A well-informed investor is a well-protected investor,” the commission said in a statement on Wednesday. The booklets, which are available on SECP website, will give investors insights into the capital market and its players, rights and responsibilities of investors, key characteristics of various investment products, role of the SECP as the apex regulator and avenues for redress available to investors in case their rights are infringed.

The guides cover the insurance sector, modarabas, voluntary pension funds, registration of companies, real estate investment trusts (REITs) and stock market.
