Search operation: 65 suspects taken into custody

LAHORE:

CIA police took 65 suspects into custody during raids in various parts of the city on Saturday. They have been moved to an unknown location for interrogation.

All divisions of the CIA police took part in the operation. Operations were held at Shahdara, Kot Lakhpat, Green Town, Liaqatabad, Model Town, Defence and Manawan.

All students’ hostels have been vacated, a statement issued by the Police Department on Saturday said.

The hostels will reopen on January 12. Operations DIG Haider Ashraf said the police will conduct strict surveillance of all hostels, guest houses and Afghan settlements in the city.

He said divisional superintendents will be in charge of supervising the operation. He said that they would file reports on it on a daily basis.
