In protest: Doctors condemn recent attack on colleague

Doctors associated with the Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS) and Civil Hospital, Karachi, protested on Friday against the murderous attack on their colleague, Dr Muhammad Zubair. The protest was held in front of the Civil Hospital, Karachi.


Zubair, an associate professor at the surgery department of DUHS and the Civil Hospital, Karachi, was shot at by unidentified men on Thursday with a bullet piercing through his chest. He was rushed to the Aga Khan Hospital, and is presently in critical condition.


The doctor, who runs his private clinic at Jamal Noor Hospital, Dhoraji Colony, was attacked near the Rangoonwala Hall and Community Centre while he was returning home.


While addressing the meeting, DUHS vice-chancellor Prof Masood Hameed Khan  said that several medical teachers have been targeted in Karachi. Doctors belonging to the DUHS and Civil Hospital, Karachi, announced to hold a rally near the Karachi Press Club on Saturday.
