KARACHI:

The four-day Delpha Cattle Show 2026 is in full swing at the Expo Centre and will conclude on Sunday.

Speaking to the media, Badr Expo CEO Zuhair Naseer said the event is featuring around 250 cattle farms and 50 bird stalls. He said rare breeds of cows, heifers and sacrificial animals, some of high value and weight, are on display, along with exotic birds.

He said the show has drawn a large number of visitors, including families, women and children, who are taking keen interest in the animals, with many engaging in photography and video content creation.

Naseer added that the event also includes a children's fair, food court, cultural shows, Malakhra, a food festival and musical programmes. He said prizes are also being distributed among visitors through a lucky draw.

He said that Karachi witnesses large-scale animal sacrifices during Eidul Azha, and such events serve as an important platform for promoting livestock and sacrificial animals. He added that the participation of various stakeholders, including political personalities, would help boost investment in the livestock sector.

Gulshan-e-Iqbal Town Chairman Dr Fawad termed the cattle show a successful event and a positive identity of Karachi. He said the people of the city have a deep connection with nature and noted that women can also engage in small-scale businesses through bird rearing.
