A girl was strangled to death by her brothers over ‘honour’ on Monday.
A Rahimyar Khan police spokesman said Shahid and Shafique, residents of Pir Abdul Malik village, accused their sister of having an affair with a neighbourhood boy. He said they first strangled her and then shot the body several times before fleeing. He said a team had been formed to find and arrest them. Separately, a woman was allegedly poisoned by her husband.
The police spokesman said Muhammad Nawaz told them that his daughter had eloped with a man a few months ago.
Nawaz told police that on Sunday afternoon, her husband called him to tell him that she had fallen ill and died. He accused her husband of poisoning her.
The spokesman said the body had been sent for a post mortem examination.
