BJP congratulates the wrong Kailash on Nobel win

BJP minister mistakenly thought Industry Minister Kailash Vijayavarghiya awarded for his 'humanitarian work'

December 13, 2014

Though the celebrated children’s rights crusader Kailash Satyarthi received the Nobel Peace Prize in Oslo, a minister by the name of Kailash Vijayavarghiya received all the praise and appreciation in India, reported NDTV.com.

Many lawmakers and ministers in the Bharatiya Janata Party-ruled state thought that Industry Minister Kailash Vijayavarghiya had won the award for his “humanitarian work.”

In the Madhya Pradesh Assembly, ministers from the BJP congratulated Vijayavarghiya warmly, while members of the Opposition alleged that the BJP had swung the awards for Vijayavarghiya.

Vijayavarghiya was not embarrassed by being mistaken for the Nobel laureate. He said that the confusion was caused by the fact that he was more well-known in the state than Satyarthi.

well if Indian media has done his job on the social worker to promote him instead of stressing on negative issues and provocative programs all the time may be people could have known him better

And therein lies the problem with South Asia.. Good for nothing ministers and bureacrats get accolades while people serving the population are nobodies.
