Combined Income Group: Inflation falls 0.40% week-on-week

SPI for the week ended December 11 registered a rise of 0.26% over the previous week for the lowest income group

ISLAMABAD: The Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI) for the week ended December 11 registered a rise of 0.26% over the previous week for the lowest income group. The SPI for the group stood at 203.37 points against 204.47 in the previous week, according to provisional figures released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics. The SPI for the combined income group declined 0.40% from 212.10 points in the previous week to 211.25 in the week under review. Compared to the corresponding week of last year, the SPI for the combined income group dropped 0.05%. During the week, average prices of 17 items in a selected basket of goods fell, prices of seven items rose and rates of remaining 29 recorded no change.
