Zakat fund distribution: Sindh govt, Sindh Bank sign MoU

KARACHI: The Sindh government and the Sindh Bank signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for interest-free distribution of Guzara Allowance among the 84,000 beneficiaries of the Zakat fund in order to facilitate the poor beneficiaries and ensure transparency in the fund’s distribution. A sum of Rs1,000 per month will be given to each beneficiary through the Sindh Bank ATM. The MoU was signed by Zakat and Ushr department secretary Ghulam Mustafa Phul and Sindh Bank president Bilal Shaikh at Chief Minister House on Thursday. Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah, finance minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, Zakat and Ushr minister Dost Mohammad Rahimoon and Sindh Zakat chairperson Justice Zahid Kurban Alvi were also present on the occasion.
