MQM district vice president Bao Muhammad Anwar was shot dead late on Tuesday in Sialkot by three unidentified men on motorcycles. A post-mortem report revealed that he was shot at least 13 times, sustaining wounds in his neck and stomach.
“The Rabita committee did not react at all to the slaying of an MQM worker in Sialkot. So now, they can go home and continue to sleep,” said an audibly angry Altaf.
“Workers are complaining that there are high levels of favouritism in the party,” Altaf said, adding that he wants one man from every MQM sector to make a Rabita committee.
The MQM chief rhetorically asked party workers if they would hold a protest rally for the slain MQM worker, while expressing disappointment in the Rabita committee. He claimed the committee had “sold villages and streets to make money.”
“I don’t want this Rabita committee. I want brave people who are unafraid to give their lives, but not those who will sell their peoples land.”
Altaf asked a large gathering of workers assembled at Nine Zero if they were ready to give their lives, while hitting out at Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, the Inter-Services Intelligence and Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif in regard to the killing of the party worker.
“Why haven’t the culprits been arrested yet?” Altaf asked while claiming that several MQM workers had been killed and that his party was near a stage where it would resort to revenge as well.
“If killings don’t stop, then no chief minister or adviser from Punjab will be able to enter Sindh,” the MQM chief warned.
Altaf also hit out at the media for giving coverage day and night to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan.
“Imran Khan has been talking about shutting down Karachi. If I had said the same thing, I would be declared a traitor and would be hanged,” the MQM chief said. However, Altaf condemned the death of the slain PTI worker who was shot in Faisalabad by an alleged PML-N worker.
Altaf also warned the Pakistan Army, ISI and Rangers of refraining from marginalising muhajirs, or there would be retaliation.
The MQM has announced to stage a protest outside the Karachi Press Club on Wednesday (today), details for which will be shared within an hour.
Earlier, Altaf suspended the Rabita committees in London and Karachi, Express News reported. In its place, a temporary caretaker Rabita Commitee has been setup comprising Qamar Mansoor (in-charge), Ghazi Salauddin, Aslam Afridi and Dr Nustat.
The move follows the killing of MQM district vice president Bao Muhammad Anwar last last night on Tuesday in Sialkot by three unidentified men on motorcycles.
Further, Rangers also conducted a raid on Tuesday in which nine people were arrested, all of whom included target killers and extortionists affiliated with MQM, according to a Rangers spokesperson.
We condemn killing of MQM worker, it is the responsibility of Punjab Govt to ensure law and order - Imran Khan

Punjab CM seeks report on MQM worker's murder
Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Wednesday took notice of MQM office-bearer Bao Muhammad Anwar's murder in Sialkot and sought a report from DPO Sialkot while issuing instructions for the immediate arrest of the culprits.
He said that the incident should be thoroughly investigated and directed the authorities to ensure the arrest of the culprits.
Shahbaz assured the victim's family that the culprits will not be able to escape.
Earlier, the chief minister had telephoned Sindh Governor Ishratul Ebad Khan and strongly condemned the murder of Anwar.
Shahbaz said that special teams have been constituted to locate the suspects, and that he is personally monitoring investigation.
Meanwhile, on the special instructions of chief minister, raids are being conducted at various places to arrest the accused.

@Farooq: yes MQM supporters remain adhered to the party , since most of the leaders are honest , few hiccups do not disturb ardent followers , Altaaf Hussain shd take care to do some purging quietly , and not in public , BTW MQM remains intact , few i mean veery few not honest people will be shown the door , party will continue to progress
Hardly anyone has guts to condemn a person life just because he belonged to MQM. If he was killed in Karachi then it would be blamed on MQM but atleast people should have guts to accept that after an MQM MPA another office bearer is shot and no one cares.
Ongoing internal dispute in the party does not need to be made in News Headlines. Not worth it.
On first look it seems like the usual political somersaults of the MQM Supremo, but it is not. It's related to the Rangers rounding up MQM activists and the Rabita Committee's failure to raise the subsequent hue & cry. Altaf Husain is trying to shake them up.
May God protect us from such a "leader",,
He should resign and hand over to someone capable. He is not fit .
@MUNIB, where in article you read that PTI is asking support from MQM. Please come up with better logic next time to defend PML-N
No mention of so called life-death issue of 'new administrative units within the country'. Now turning out to be 'new administrative people within party'.
Come on Mr. Hussain, people are fed up with your comments. This is only a gimmick to stay in the news as we all know you and your party is slowly and surely losing its worth. When the army is present in polling station in Karachi you lose, otherwise we all know how your goons are ordered to print stamps on ballot books. Your days are numbered.
@MUNIB: Are you still dreaming. If PTI had to join hands with MQM, it would have done it long ago. And even if they agree on a one point agenda in the future, then don't stand up and put sick accusations. PTI has agreed previously with PPP also on a one point agenda.
Lol yet another drama in marking... We salute endurance of MQM supporter..
This is like indian TV soaps. Never ending and useless yet captivating.
Here we go again. Lets see what happens when the influence of "cough mixture" wears off
What an irony . . PTI has to get support from a party like MQM to score points against PMLN
Same MQM which PTI had always been accusing of terrorism bhatta and killings
Is this "NAYA PAKISTAN" ?
Another drama! they will show "live conference call on tv.." and listeners at nine zero will call out "nuhi bhai nuhi....nuhi bhai nuhi..."...
When Bhai feels that something is been cooked within the party, he reshuffles to see if he still has an iron clad grip. Why is he mentioning about dissent within his party? He wants all the media to focus only on his party. MQM holds the bargaining chips to the political situation in Sindh and even in Pakistan if played correctly. A fascist-style party leadership could backfire some day.
Seems BHAI has had another brilliant idea, to threaten he is resigning as leader and all present will beg him to re-consider, Been a few days since high drama!!
Powerful nations (races) of the world are running brain controlled third world people...
A drama in making again??
It will resume after some days.
