The district government of Gujranwala on Monday issued orders to reopen the stores that had earlier been sealed on Friday.
The district government had sealed 91 labs, medical stores and general stores on Friday for not getting the requisite licenses to operate from the town municipal authority.
Shopkeepers had protested against the action on Sunday on the call of the Pakistan Medical Association.
While talking to newsmen on Monday, Assistant Commission Mian Attiqur Rehman said that the medical and general store owners, whose shops had sealed, had promised to submit applications for licences to the town municipal authority.
“Those who fail to do so will find their stores sealed again,” he said. He said the labs were the responsibility of the Health executive district officer.
He said that the Health EDO would send a report on sealed labs to the DCO within a week.
