Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain's bail has been extended until April 2015, the party said on Wednesday.

"It is an entirely normal procedure in the UK legal system for bail to be extended,” said Altaf in a statement issued from party headquarters in London on Wednesday.

London Metropolitan Police had arrested the MQM leader on June 3 from his residence on money laundering charges. But four days later, on June 7, it released Altaf on bail till July 31. That bail was later extended till December.

“As this process continues, I urge MQM members and supporters across the world to remain calm about this issue,” the statement added.

Seems like SLY & MET Police are just lingering on with the case. Cases like these are investigated within weeks, and either dismissed or given to prosecution. And here years have passed in investigaton phase only.
