Rangers update: 7,618 suspects detained in 15 months

Nearly 18 Rangers personnel also lost their lives from September 2013 to December 2014 while 51 of them were injured

During the last 15 months, Pakistan Rangers, Sindh, claimed to have carried out 4,147 targeted raids in which more than 7,618 suspects were detained and after the initial investigation, 3,481 criminals, including 178 target killers, 230 extortionists and 35 kidnappers, were handed over to the police.


According to the report, the Rangers also recovered 6,146 weapons, including RPG-7, unibarrel rocket launchers, hand grenades, LMGs, SMGs, rifles, shotguns, sniper rifles, pistols, explosives, improvised explosives devices, detonators, bullet-proof jackets and 366,183 rounds of bullets. They claimed that during the operation, 169 encounters were also conducted in which 242 militants and other criminals were killed, around 144 were also apprehended.  Around 35 people who had been kidnapped were also rescued. Nearly 18 Rangers personnel also lost their lives while on duty from September 2013 to December 2014 while 51 of them were injured.
